My name is Randy Rodrigue, and I've been a resident of Waterville for nearly 30 years. I am dedicated to the industry. I have enjoyed my cosmetology career for over 13 years. I attended and graduated from Pierre's School of Cosmetology in 2004. I was excited to begin my journey at one of the finest Salons in the Central Maine area: Agora Hair Gallery & Day Spa. I learned all areas of the salon and spa business including precision cutting, coloring, color corrections, chemical texturizing, bridal and prom dress work, waxing, spa manicures, spa pedicures, and salon management. Continual education has become important to me, and I have attended many educational classes with these top company brands, keeping up with the latest fashion trends and reviewing the classics: Redken, Paul Mitchel, L'Oréal proffessional, Swartsquof, Farouk Chi,Aquage, Surface, Matrix, Tigi, MalibuC, Kenra Professional and many more. I am committed to learning new parts of the industry through these training classes, changing with the industry because life can change and so can your needs. I joined Couture Styles as a business partner in February 2014 and have enjoyed the rewarding challenges of owning and sharing a business. I also enjoy teaching new team members the necessary skills for this industry and for life; seeing them succeed is extremely important and rewarding to me. Most recently I have pursued a longtime dream of mine: opening up my very own Salon Renū & Co., with the goal to create a friendly, welcoming, and exceptionally professional environment. Salon Renū is, I believe, unique: here you can come and enjoy your experience, you can feel comfortable communicating your needs, and respectfully critique us for the purpose of future mutual improvements. Simply put: Relax and be awesome! I specialize in a broad range of techniques from hair coloring and color correction to precision cutting. I've often been told that I look like an artist painting on color from whatever pallet we choose, or sculpting the hair as I lift it up and view it from all different angles snipping away. My mission is to always give you the absolute best style that flatters your features, and to pamper you with spa treatments or a listening ear to help you feel wonderful. With the styling provided it is also important to myself and our team that we teach you how to care for your hair, giving that special look special longevity. Aside from this industry I embark on learning new things related to a healthy mind, family affairs, fitness, trail running, practicing music, volunteering, and refurbishing junk into jewels.
At the age of 23 I choose to explore outside of Maine for a formal education in massage therapy at Mountain State School of Massage, an accredited, COMPTA certified facility, in Charleston, WV. This was the beginning of my pursuit for a career in helping others progress towards their health and wellness goals. While attending school I also obtained my certification in hot stones, and plan to continue building my knowledge as often as possible. My interests and hobbies include, anything along the realms of health and healing, dietary nutrition, aromatherapy, wild crafting, hiking, rock climbing, kayaking, and just about anything that can get me outside to appreciate our wondrous mother Earth. I was proudly born and raised in central Maine and plan to do my utmost best to assist the local community in recovery of their body, mind, and soul.
Born and raised in Maine for 23 years. Even at a young age I told my mother that when I grew up I wanted to do hair. I hadn't realized yet that it was more than just a haircut. It was about helping everyone look and feel their best. Shortly after graduating high school I moved to Waterville and I got my foot in the door by working as a receptionist at Agora Hair Gallery & Day Spa. I later began learning as an apprentice at Couture Styles learning from, Randall, with 14 years of experience, and Maila with 9 years experience. Learning only the best techniques both old and new. Later on Randall decided to open us his own salon in the heart of Waterville. Now I have the great opportunity of learning tricks of the trade and the fundamentals of owning and operating a business. I enjoy continuing my education through trade shows and classes dedicated to techniques for cuts, and colors. Extensive product education including, Malibu C, Surface, Kenra, Olaplex, and many others as well as all of the chemistry behind the curtain. Outside of the Salon environment and having been born and raised in Maine. I have always enjoyed the outdoors in my spare time. Hiking, camping, social gatherings and bon fires, coastal trips, lake and brook fishing, and physical exercise. I'm very excited and grateful to be on this journey towards becoming a master stylist and having such a unique opportunity to be learning it all as an apprentice directly in the salon.
I have had a passion for everything in the hair world since I was a little girl. The many different colors and textures have always fascinated me with all the endless possibilities. As a child I enjoyed creating styles on all of my Barbie doll’s hair or anyone willing to sit down long enough and this was way before I completely understood what I was doing. I loved doing my friends and families hair so much so that I would try to convince them to let me do something fun and different every time I saw them. I realized that what I had loved doing in my spare time was something I could see myself doing for a career. I enrolled at Capilo Institute in Augusta, took no time at all before I knew I was in the right place doing exactly what I loved. There is no greater feeling than that of making others look and feel beautiful. Since Cosmetology school I have taken many classes online and in person to help further my education and technical skills. One of the most extensive classes I have taken was to become a certified eye lash extensionist. I am Certified with Novalash. Novalash is one of the most esteemed brands in the lash extension industry. Applying eye lashes is one of the more rewarding aspects of my job. The eyes truly are the window to the soul and lash extensions simply provide a beautiful frame to that window. I also enjoy creating beautiful hair shapes and colors using some of the latest and up to date coloring techniques along with classic styles. I have worked with brands such as Matrix, Surface, Malibu C, Olaplex, Redken, Kenra, CND Shellac and Paul Mitchell. I look forward to having you sit in my chair and help you look and feel your best in every aspect of what I have to offer.
